La Paloma Negra Art
My artwork is inspired by impactful experiences that have changed my life and also by my passions. My life experiences have led me to create artwork that is both beautiful and mysterious. I want to encourage viewers to think outside of the box and inspire them to reflect on the meaning of my pieces. Creating artwork through the outlet of ceramics has been my way of coping with my ongoing depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. I have struggled with finding a way to express all the pain I've felt, and in my junior year of high school I found the answer, ceramics. Ceramics has become more than just a hobby, it has become a therapeutic process where I can deal with my previous life experiences as well as the everyday stress that comes from being a teenager. With clay, I can express my thoughts on social issues, my beliefs, and the injustices that have affected me personally. This is what makes my artwork so special: it tells the story of my life. Every piece of art I create is a piece of me. These pieces allow me to connect with viewers through a representation of my experiences and beliefs. Overall, I would like the viewer to understand my life experiences while still being able to relate it to their own life.
